It was in the summertime around 1981 when Stephen Mills of Peover Lane, Chelford, was driving near his home. It was daylight and there was not a cloud in the sky. He saw something in the sky which looked at first like the moon. He estimated its height at about 30,000 feet.
He stopped the car and wound the window down to get a better look. As he watched, the shape appeared to be more elliptical than round. It then went straight up away from him until it was a small point of light, before disappearing completely.
Stephen is a caver/potholer, and it’s interesting to note that he has also seen anomalous blue lights, both above and below ground. It’s possibly also worth mentioning that his home is quite close to Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope. Please see the other cases concerning this location.
