Welcome to the Macclesfield UFO Society
On the 28th of December 1980, I stood beneath a huge disc shaped craft which was hovering less than 200 feet above my head. It was so low that it blotted out most of the night sky. It was not possible to focus on any structure to the craft from underneath. It was like looking into a sooty black tunnel, and the only way I could tell its shape was by the area of sky which it blotted out. There was only a small amount of starry sky still visible between the rim of the craft and the surrounding hills. It was completely silent at this stage, but as it slowly moved away, it made a very deep rumbling, roaring sound. I now had a side on view of it, and was able to count the number of rectangular windows encircling the bottom of the craft. I counted them 3 times. There were eleven and a half of them visible from this side on view. I assumed that they continued around the other side of it. I watched it fly towards the Lyme Green area of Macclesfield, and I now understood that we are not alone in the Universe, and that my life would never be quite the same again. This event took place near to the entrance to Rough Hey Farm, which is just to the Bosley side of Fools Nook on the Macclesfield to Leek road. I have recounted this story so many times since then, and so often have I felt that the person listening to it considered me to be the fool.
Over the past 30 years or so, I have studied most aspects of this subject in as great a depth as I possibly could. I have often met with disapproval from some family and friends who could not understand my love of the subject, and yet I could not help but press on with the research. To my mind, the fact that Earth is constantly visited by Extra Terrestrial beings of many different races must be the most important issue facing mankind today. The Macclesfield area is one of the busiest in the UK for UFO sightings and encounters, and yet few people are aware of this fact. Through MUFOS, I am determined to rectify this situation, and to create a safe environment where people may share what they have witnessed without fear of ridicule.
To begin with, I have had to draw on my own experiences and the many local sightings which I personally investigated over the years. However, I’m quite certain that these are just the tip of the iceberg, and I would love to hear from anyone who has a genuine story to tell, so that it may be added to the website. The more information we have the better. Even if you’re not sure that your odd experience is definitely connected to a UFO event, please do get in touch. It is not necessary for you to have seen a UFO to have been affected by one. A good example of this is where people experience missing time or gain time, for which there appears to be no rational explanation.
Anyone, of any age, who has a fair and open mind, is welcome to join me on our voyage of discovery. At the birth of MUFOS UK, I must admit to having no experience whatsoever of how to run a society, nor can I guess how popular it may become. I am very open to taking advice on this, and it’s my hope that through the society, some kind person or persons with more experience than I will offer their help. I have a feeling I’m going to need it!
